- Abu Qatal, a key Lashkar-e-Taiba operative and close associate of 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed, was killed in the Dina area of Jhelum district, Pakistan.
- Qatal was the mastermind behind the 2024 Reasi bus attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which targeted Hindu pilgrims and resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.
- He was also implicated in the 2023 Rajouri attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, where coordinated assaults killed seven civilians, including children, and injured several others.
- Indian authorities, including the National Investigation Agency, had charge-sheeted Qatal for his role in recruiting and deploying LeT operatives to target civilians and security forces in India.
- The circumstances of his death remain unclear, with speculation suggesting internal rivalries within LeT or a targeted operation by intelligence agencies.
