Legendary Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski Named Special Adviser to NBA

Former Duke men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski has been appointed as the NBA's special adviser to basketball operations.
Krzyzewski will provide counsel to the league office, NBA team executives and other league leaders on a host of issues related to the game.
Krzyzewski's career includes being the coach for some of the league's biggest stars for Team USA from 2005-16.
Krzyzewski retired as the head coach of the Blue Devils men's basketball team in 2021 but will attend an NBA general managers meeting next week in Chicago as part of his new role.
Krzyzewski turned down opportunities to join the NBA as a coach multiple times during his Duke career but will now advise the league in an executive position.
