Legendary St. Louis Baseball Writer Rick Hummel Dies at 77

Rick Hummel, longtime baseball writer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, died at 77 after a short illness.
Hummel covered the St. Louis Cardinals for 49 years and 42 consecutive MLB All-Star Games.
Known as "The Commish," Hummel chronicled three Cardinals World Series wins and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Hummel received numerous honors including Sportswriter of the Year and the Baseball Writers’ Association of America's Career Excellence Award.
Hummel is survived by his wife, three children, step-daughter and five grandchildren.
