Lego Unveils The Shire Set with Early Access and Exclusive Gift for Insiders

The $270 Lord of the Rings set, featuring Bag End and nine minifigures, will launch April 5 with early access for Lego Insiders starting April 2.

Lego announced The Shire set as the latest addition to its Lord of the Rings collection, following Rivendell and Barad-dûr.
The 2,017-piece set includes detailed recreations of Bag End, Bilbo’s study, the party tree, and Gandalf’s cart, along with nine minifigures such as Gandalf, Bilbo, Frodo, and Samwise.
Interactive features include a mechanism to make Bilbo disappear and a burning letter that transforms into the One Ring.
Lego Insiders purchasing the set between April 2 and April 8 will receive an exclusive bonus gift depicting Smeagol and Deagol discovering the One Ring.
Actor Sean Astin, who portrayed Samwise Gamgee in the films, introduced the set in a nostalgic promotional video.
