The game's developer, Kevan Davis, announced the closure due to the UK's Online Safety Act, which imposes strict regulations and heavy fines on social and gaming websites.
The Online Safety Act, effective later this month, requires platforms to implement age restrictions and content moderation to protect users, particularly children.
Davis stated that making the game compliant with the law is not feasible for a solo developer and has offered refunds for recent donations made in the past six months.
The game's website and wiki will remain accessible in a limited capacity, with Davis leaving open the possibility of a future reboot or spin-off.
