Joey Votto, a free-agent first baseman, has drawn interest from the Los Angeles Angels, according to a report by Jon Heyman.
The Cincinnati Reds, Votto's team from 2007 to 2023, have not picked up his 2024 club option and are reportedly not interested in a reunion.
Votto has had a successful career with the Reds, batting .294 with 356 home runs, 459 doubles and an OPS of .920 in 8,746 plate appearances, and leading the league in on-base percentage seven times.
Despite his achievements, Votto's recent seasons have been marred by injuries, which may be a cause for concern for potential teams.
