Mail Carrier Shot and Killed, Killer Sentenced to 30 Years

An Indianapolis man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for fatally shooting a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier in 2020.
Tony Cushingberry pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.
Cushingberry shot Angela Summers, 45, in the chest after aggressively approaching her and demanding his mail.
Summers died at the hospital and Cushingberry fled the scene but was later arrested.
The U.S. Attorney called Cushingberry's actions "evil" and said Summers should be alive today.
