Major Fire Engulfs Khadakpada Furniture Market in Mumbai, No Injuries Reported

The Level-III fire destroyed 5-6 shops in a densely populated area, with firefighting efforts lasting over five hours.

A massive fire broke out at the Khadakpada Furniture Market in Goregaon East, Mumbai, at 11:19 am on Saturday.
The fire was classified as a Level-III incident and affected approximately 2,000 square meters of ground-floor shops storing flammable materials like wood, plastic, and thermocol.
Firefighting teams deployed 12 fire engines, 11 jumbo water tankers, and advanced equipment, including high-pressure hoses and a firefighting robot, to contain the blaze.
The fire was brought under control after more than five hours of efforts, with no injuries or casualties reported.
Local residents raised concerns about unauthorised shops in the congested area, urging authorities to take preventive measures to avoid future incidents.
