Major League Stolen Base Leader Esteury Ruiz Placed on Injured List

Esteury Ruiz, who leads MLB with 43 stolen bases, was placed on the 10-day injured list by the Oakland Athletics due to a right shoulder injury.
Ruiz hurt his shoulder diving back to first base on a pickoff attempt during a game against the Detroit Tigers.
Ruiz is batting .257 this season with 35 RBIs in 85 games for the Athletics.
The Athletics called up outfielder Cody Thomas and pitcher Angel Felipe from Triple-A Las Vegas to replace Ruiz and designated pitcher Rico Garcia for assignment.
Garcia allowed two runs in 1 2/3 innings pitched in his last appearance for Oakland.
