Major power outage in San Francisco leaves thousands without electricity

A power outage in San Francisco on April 26 left more than 9,000 customers without electricity for several hours.
The outage began around 9:15 p.m. and affected neighborhoods including Nob Hill, North Beach, the Financial District and Fisherman's Wharf.
The cause of the outage is under investigation but may have been an underground transformer fire.
PG&E crews worked to restore power and expected most customers to have service back by noon the following day.
The outage impacted a total of 9,454 PG&E customers across the city according to utility spokespeople.
