‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Revival Begins Filming This Week with Original Cast and New Additions
The Disney+ series reunites much of the original cast while introducing new characters, including Malcolm’s daughter and a sixth sibling, as production kicks off in Vancouver.
- Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, Christopher Masterson, and Justin Berfield are reprising their roles in the four-episode Disney+ revival.
- Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will replace Erik Per Sullivan as Dewey, as Sullivan has stepped away from acting since the original series ended in 2006.
- New characters include Malcolm's daughter Leah, played by Keeley Karsten, and the youngest sibling Kelly, portrayed by Vaughan Murrae, expanding the family dynamic.
- Linwood Boomer, the original creator, returns as writer and executive producer, with Ken Kwapis directing all four episodes.
- The series, which follows Malcolm and his daughter navigating family chaos during Hal and Lois' 40th wedding anniversary, is expected to premiere later in 2025.
