‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Revival Begins Filming This Week with Original Cast Reunited

The four-episode Disney+ series brings back Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek, while introducing new characters and storylines.

Filming for the highly anticipated 'Malcolm in the Middle' revival is set to begin within days, with Frankie Muniz rewatching the original series to prepare for his role.
The limited series will consist of four 30-minute episodes and follow Malcolm and his daughter as they attend Hal and Lois’ 40th wedding anniversary.
Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, Christopher Masterson, and Justin Berfield will reprise their roles, while Caleb Ellsworth-Clark takes on the role of Dewey and Keeley Karsten plays Malcolm’s daughter.
The revival was initially pitched as a movie but was restructured into a series by Disney+ to better explore the story and characters.
Directed by original series veterans Ken Kwapis and Linwood Boomer, the series is expected to premiere before the end of 2025 and leaves room for potential future projects.
