‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Revival to Begin Filming with Expanded Cast
Disney+ reunites much of the original cast while introducing new characters for a four-episode series centered on family chaos during Hal and Lois' 40th anniversary.
- Filming for the four-episode revival is set to commence in Vancouver within days, with a release expected later in 2025.
- Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek will reprise their roles as Malcolm, Hal, and Lois, respectively, alongside Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield as Francis and Reese.
- Erik Per Sullivan, who played Dewey, will not return; Caleb Ellsworth-Clark has been cast to take over the role.
- New characters include Malcolm’s daughter Leah, played by Keeley Karsten, and the family’s youngest sibling Kelly, portrayed by Vaughan Murrae.
- Linwood Boomer, the original creator, returns as writer and executive producer, with Ken Kwapis directing all four episodes.
