Man Accused of Swallowing $769K in Stolen Tiffany & Co. Earrings After Orlando Heist

Jaythan Gilder, 32, allegedly impersonated a sports representative to steal luxury jewelry and was arrested after a body scan revealed foreign objects in his stomach.

  • Jaythan Gilder allegedly stole two pairs of diamond earrings worth $769,500 and attempted to take a $587,000 ring from a Tiffany & Co. store in Orlando, Florida.
  • Gilder reportedly posed as a representative for an Orlando Magic player to gain access to the store's VIP room, where the theft occurred.
  • Police apprehended Gilder on Interstate 10 heading toward Texas, where he was charged with resisting arrest but initially not charged with theft as the stolen items were not found on him.
  • A body scan conducted at the jail revealed foreign objects in Gilder’s stomach, which authorities suspect are the missing earrings, pending recovery and confirmation.
  • Gilder, who has a history of theft-related charges and 48 outstanding warrants in Colorado, was also linked to a similar 2022 robbery at a Tiffany & Co. in Texas.
