Man Attempts to Extort Bitcoin from Harvard with Fake Bomb Threat

A man planted a fake bomb on Harvard University campus and threatened to detonate it unless he was paid in Bitcoin.
The man was arrested in New Hampshire and faces federal charges for making extortionate threats and conspiracy.
The man placed a metal safe containing fireworks and loose wiring in a tool bag on Harvard's campus and claimed in a Craigslist ad he was hired to deliver it.
After placing the tool bag, the man demanded payment in Bitcoin within 96 minutes or he would detonate three bombs he claimed were on campus.
The man admitted to authorities after his arrest that he knew what he did was wrong and had just put fireworks in the safe.
