Man Dies on M4 After Confrontation by Online Paedophile Hunters

The man, who had been arrested and released without charge, fell to his death the day after a livestreamed sting operation by a vigilante group.

Adrian Smith, a man in his 40s, died after falling from a height onto the M4 motorway outside Bristol on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred a day after he was confronted by a self-proclaimed 'online child protection team' in a livestreamed sting operation.
Smith had been arrested by Avon and Somerset Police following the confrontation but was released without charge on Saturday.
Police have referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to the prior police contact with Smith before his death.
Authorities have urged the public not to speculate and to respect the privacy of Smith’s family as an inquest into his death is prepared.
