Man Found Dead in Plane Engine at Salt Lake City Airport

Kyler Efinger's family believes he was experiencing a mental health crisis when he breached security and ran onto the tarmac.

Kyler Efinger, 30, was found dead inside the engine of a Delta plane at Salt Lake City International Airport on New Year's Day.
Efinger breached an emergency exit door and ran across the tarmac before climbing into the engine of the plane, which was preparing for takeoff with 100 passengers on board.
Security footage shows Efinger trying to open locked doors at the airport, kicking open an emergency exit, and running towards the plane.
Efinger's family believes he was experiencing a mental health crisis at the time, possibly triggered by missing his flight to Denver to visit his ill grandfather.
The incident is still under investigation by local police and federal agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, and the Transportation Security Administration.
