Man Found Dead Inside Aircraft Engine at Salt Lake City Airport

Kyler Efinger breached security, accessed the tarmac, and climbed into a Delta Air Lines jet engine, leading to his death and the cancellation of a flight to San Francisco.

30-year-old Kyler Efinger was found dead inside an aircraft engine at Salt Lake City International Airport.
Efinger had breached an emergency exit door, ran onto the tarmac, and climbed into the engine of a Delta Air Lines jet that was on a de-icing pad.
Despite life-saving efforts, including CPR and the administration of naloxone, Efinger was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident led to the cancellation of the Delta flight to San Francisco, with all 95 passengers rebooked on other flights.
Multiple agencies, including local police, the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, and the Transportation Security Administration, are conducting investigations into the incident.
