The incident occurred early Monday morning in the Rosenstraße area of Berlin-Mitte.
Emergency responders were called at approximately 6:50 AM and found the individual trapped in the truck's mechanism.
Firefighters had to cut holes into the garbage truck to reach the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
