Man Receives Suspended Sentence for Stone-Throwing Attack on Green Party Leaders

A 46-year-old man was sentenced to one year and four months probation for throwing a stone at Green Party leaders Katharina Schulze and Ludwig Hartmann during a 2023 election rally in Neu-Ulm.
The attacker, associated with the Reichsbürger and Querdenker movements, was also ordered to complete community service and pay a €1,000 fine.
Despite the stone narrowly missing the politicians, the incident was described by Schulze as the most shocking moment of the campaign.
The courtroom proceedings were held under heightened security due to the political nature of the attack and the defendant's extremist affiliations.
