Man Sentenced to 18 Years for Burning Wife to Death

Thomas Rainey threw petrol on his wife Katrina Rainey and lit her on fire, killing her.
Rainey pleaded guilty to the murder in October 2021 and was sentenced in Belfast Crown Court.
The judge called the crime "horrific" and gave Rainey a lengthy prison sentence of at least 18 years.
Katrina Rainey suffered severe burns over much of her body and died in the hospital after telling emergency responders that her husband had doused and ignited her.
The Rainey family has been devastated by Katrina's murder at the hands of her husband, who had no history of domestic abuse before the attack.
