Manipur Police Seize 72,000 Smuggled Peacock Feather Shafts Near Myanmar Border

  • Police recovered 72,000 peacock feather shafts weighing 142 kilograms, stored in four plastic sacks, and valued at ₹37 lakh in the international market.
  • The contraband was being smuggled across the unfenced 398 km India-Myanmar border, a known hotspot for trafficking drugs, arms, and exotic wildlife.
  • A four-wheeler vehicle used for transportation was also seized during the operation, which was based on intelligence inputs.
