Mariyana Spyropoulos Wins Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Race

With 69% of precincts reporting, Spyropoulos led with 65.7% of the vote to Martinez's 34.3%.
Spyropoulos campaigned on an ethics and transparency platform, promising to push for more data access and to make the office subject to FOIA.
Martinez, who took office four years ago as an independent underdog, faced criticism for her political associations and handling of data issues.
The election also saw significant races for the Cook County Board of Review and the county board, with Larry Rogers and Tara Stamps winning their respective races.
