Marshawn Lynch Reaches Plea Deal in 2022 DUI Case
The former NFL running back avoids jail by agreeing to a series of conditions, including DUI school and community service.
- Former NFL star Marshawn Lynch has reached a plea deal in his 2022 DUI case, avoiding jail time by agreeing to complete DUI school, a victim impact panel, an alcohol evaluation, 200 hours of community service, and staying out of trouble for a year.
- The plea deal will result in the misdemeanor DUI charge being reduced to reckless driving, with the case to be dismissed and closed as a reckless driving infraction upon completion of the agreed conditions.
- Lynch was arrested in August 2022 after being found asleep at the wheel of an unregistered and undriveable 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in Las Vegas.
- Prosecutors had suspected Lynch's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit at the time of his arrest.
- Lynch, a former Seattle Seahawks running back and five-time Pro Bowl pick, retired from the NFL in 2019 after 12 seasons.
