Massive Fire Engulfs Historic Singer Sewing Machine Factory Site in New Jersey

Over 100 Firefighters Battle Blaze, Air Quality Monitoring Requested Amid Thick Smoke

A massive four-alarm fire has engulfed the Elizabeth Industrial Park in New Jersey, the site of the historic Singer Sewing Machine factory.
Over 100 firefighters are battling the blaze, which could burn for days. Firefighting boats have also been deployed.
Several parts of the complex, including two roofs and a wall, have already collapsed, but the oldest historical portion of the building is not currently threatened.
No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Elizabeth Mayor Chris Bollwage has requested air quality monitoring due to the thick black smoke billowing from the site.
