Bayern Munich has decided not to take any action against Noussair Mazraoui following his Instagram post in support of Palestine, with the German club maintaining that he 'never meant to cause any irritation' with his post.
The club's CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, stated that Mazraoui strongly condemns war and terror, a sentiment which resonated during their extensive discussion post the incident.
Mazraoui, a Moroccan national who joined Bayern in 2022, reaffirmed during the discussions that he condemns all forms of terrorism and terror organizations.
The decision of Bayern Munich to not sanction Mazraoui contrasts with other clubs such as Mainz and French club Nice, who have suspended players for social media posts about the Israel-Gaza conflict.
Despite the controversy, Mazraoui will remain in the Bayern squad but is currently sidelined due to an injury, and not due to any fallout from his social media post.
