Fallon approached Trainor with the idea for the song, and they wrote it together over FaceTime in about an hour.
To celebrate the song's release, Fallon gifted random people iPhones on the streets of New York City.
This is not the first holiday song for either Fallon or Trainor, who have both previously released Christmas music.
