Memphis Man Accidentally Shot by Dog After Gun Discharges in Bed

A Memphis man, Jerald Kirkwood, was injured when his dog accidentally discharged a firearm while jumping on a bed early Monday morning.
The dog, a one-year-old pit bull named Oreo, got its paw stuck in the gun's trigger guard, causing the weapon to fire and graze Kirkwood's left thigh.
Kirkwood’s female companion, who was present at the time, left the scene with the gun, according to police reports.
The victim was treated for non-critical injuries, and police found a spent shell casing in the home but filed no charges, deeming the incident accidental.
