Met Police Officer Martyn Blake Pleads Not Guilty to Murder of Chris Kaba

The officer, previously known as NX121, was named following a judge's decision to lift the anonymity order.

Martyn Blake, 40, is set to go on trial this autumn for the fatal shooting of Chris Kaba in Streatham in September 2022.
Blake pleaded not guilty at a pre-trial hearing at the Old Bailey, where his identity was revealed for the first time since being charged.
The decision to name Blake was made by Judge Mark Lucraft KC, citing no immediate risk to the officer or his family.
Chris Kaba, 24, was shot dead by Blake during an armed police car stop, after his vehicle collided with a marked police car.
The trial is expected to start on October 2, with a further hearing scheduled for July.
