Michael Morkov Withdraws from Tour de France Due to COVID-19

The Danish cyclist, set to retire this year, tested positive before the 12th stage but plans to compete in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Morkov, a 39-year-old veteran rider, tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Despite no severe symptoms, his team decided to withdraw him to protect his long-term health.
This is Morkov's final Tour de France before his retirement at the end of the year.
He previously won a stage in the 2013 Spanish Vuelta and a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
The Tour de France, which started in Florence, will conclude in Nice for the first time in its history.
