Microsoft 365 Outages Disrupt Outlook, Teams, and Other Services

A problematic code change and ongoing technical issues have caused widespread disruptions for Microsoft 365 users over the weekend and into Monday.

Microsoft attributed a weekend outage affecting Outlook and other services to a buggy code update in its authentication systems, which has since been reverted.
The outage began Saturday evening and impacted services like Teams, Power Platform, and Purview, causing login issues and degraded functionality.
Although Microsoft claimed services were restored, users reported intermittent issues, particularly on iOS devices, requiring app reinstallation to regain access.
A separate Microsoft 365 outage on Monday disrupted Teams call functionality and affected users in Canada, with broader connectivity issues reported for services like Exchange and OneDrive.
Microsoft is analyzing telemetry data to address these recurring issues and plans to review its change management processes to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
