Minecraft to Introduce Rideable Happy Ghast Mob in 2025 Update

The new mob, announced during Minecraft Live 2025, will enable group travel, sky-based construction, and creative gameplay opportunities.

The Happy Ghast begins as a Dried Ghast block found in the Nether, which must be rehydrated in the Overworld to evolve into a Ghastling and then a Happy Ghast.
Players can ride the Happy Ghast, which supports up to four riders, offering a new method for group travel in the game.
The Happy Ghast allows players to build structures in the sky by serving as a stable platform in Survival mode.
Crafting a harness using glass, leather, and wool blocks is required to ride the mob, and its growth can be accelerated by feeding snowballs to a Ghastling.
Mojang has confirmed the update will release later in 2025, though the exact date remains unannounced.
