Minnesota Missionary’s Wife Charged in Angola Murder-for-Hire Plot

Jackie Shroyer, accused of orchestrating the murder of her husband Beau Shroyer, faces trial in Angola following allegations of a plot involving a security guard and two accomplices.

Beau Shroyer, a 44-year-old missionary from Minnesota, was found stabbed to death in Angola in October 2024 during a mission with his wife and five children.
Jackie Shroyer, his wife, has been charged as a co-author in the murder, accused of planning a murder-for-hire scheme with her alleged lover, a 24-year-old security guard, and two other accomplices.
Authorities allege Jackie promised $50,000 to the accomplices, with the crime reportedly motivated by her affair and reluctance to return to the U.S. as the mission neared its end.
The couple’s five children, aged 9 to 17, have been brought back to the U.S. and are being cared for by family with support from their church and the missionary organization SIM USA.
Jackie remains in custody in Angola and is expected to face trial within the next six months, while one accomplice remains at large.
