Family Files $5 Million Lawsuit After Officer Cleared of Criminal Charges

Bodycam footage released shows Mississippi police officer, Sgt. Greg Capers, shooting 11-year-old Aderrien Murry, who had called 911 for help against his mother's violent ex-partner.
Murry survived the shooting but spent five days in hospital with injuries including a collapsed lung, fractured ribs and a lacerated liver.
No charges were brought against Sgt. Capers after a Mississippi grand jury found in December that he did not engage in criminal activity.
Murry's family has filed a $5 million civil lawsuit against Sgt. Capers, the city of Indianola and its police chief, alleging 'reckless disregard' for their rights and safety.
Sgt. Capers was suspended without pay during the investigation but was reinstated in December.
