Mother Charged with Felony Murder After Daughter Dies from Exposure in Georgia Woods

Uriha Ridge Allegedly Consumed Illicit Drugs and Spent Over 11 Hours in Freezing Conditions with Her Children

Uriha Ridge, a 35-year-old mother from Georgia, has been charged with felony murder and child cruelty after her 3-year-old daughter died from exposure to freezing temperatures.
Ridge allegedly took her two children, aged 3 and 7, into the woods near the Foxhall Resort in Douglasville, where they were staying, and spent over 11 hours in freezing, rainy conditions.
Authorities believe Ridge had consumed illicit drugs before and during their time in the woods, which they believe is the root cause of the incident.
Despite having a fully charged cellphone, Ridge did not call for help until nearly 12 hours after entering the woods.
Ridge's 7-year-old child was also hospitalized, but their condition is currently unknown.
