MTA Suspends Service on Multiple Subway Lines After Vandals Smash Train Windows

Vandals smashed windows on dozens of subway trains in New York City early Tuesday morning.
The vandalism affected 36 trains across 5 subway lines, forcing the MTA to suspend service on the W line and implement limited schedules on the B, D, N, Q, and R lines.
The MTA estimates that repairs could cost up to $500,000 due to the older age of the affected trains.
Windows from out-of-service cars are being used to replace the vandalized windows.
Service disruptions continued during morning rush hour commutes on Tuesday.
