Overview

• Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis officially inaugurated the trial run of Metro-9 Phase 1 on May 14, 2025, covering the 4.97 km stretch between Dahisar East and Kashigaon.
• Metro-9 is a 13.5 km elevated corridor connecting Dahisar East to Mira-Bhayandar, with eight planned stations and four ready for trial operations.
• The project features Mumbai's first double-decker viaduct, integrating metro tracks and a vehicular flyover to optimize urban space and traffic flow.
• Civil construction is 85% complete, with full passenger services for Phase 1 targeted by the end of 2025 and network integration expected by 2027.
• Once operational, Metro-9 will reduce travel times, improve connectivity across Mumbai's western suburbs, and alleviate road congestion.
