Nacon Reclaims WRC Game License, Plans Complete Reboot

  • Nacon has regained exclusive FIA World Rally Championship game rights for PC and consoles covering six seasons from 2027 through 2032.
  • The French publisher intends to completely reboot the franchise with an entirely fresh vision aimed at delivering an immersive experience for rally enthusiasts and new players.
  • Nacon originally held the WRC license from 2015 to 2022 and acquired Kylotonn Racing in 2018 to develop annual official rally titles.
  • Codemasters, acquired by EA in 2021, released EA Sports WRC in 2023 and halted further rally development earlier this month.
  • Nacon CEO Alain Falc described the agreement as a “major milestone” and FIA WRC marketing chief Arne Dirks highlighted Nacon’s proven expertise in rally game development.
