Naismith Player of the Year Zach Edey returning to Purdue despite NBA interest

Zach Edey, Purdue's 7-foot-4 center, has decided to return to Purdue for his senior season instead of entering the 2023 NBA Draft.
Edey had a dominant junior season, leading Purdue to a Big Ten title and No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament while winning every major individual award.
Although Edey received interest from NBA teams, he was projected as a late second-round pick due to concerns about his athleticism and ability to defend smaller players.
Returning to Purdue will allow Edey to continue developing his game and possibly improve his draft stock.
With nearly all of their starters returning from last season, Purdue will enter next season as one of the favorites to win the national championship.
