Napa Mother Charged in DUI Crash That Killed Her Two Children

Yesica Barajas, 31, faces multiple felony charges following the March 16 crash, with bail set at $1.5 million and her arraignment postponed to April 1.

Yesica Barajas was allegedly driving under the influence when her vehicle crashed into a tree on Highway 29, killing her children, 10-year-old Damien and 9-year-old Aaliyah Montanez.
Barajas has been charged with two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, child abuse, and other felonies due to the severity of the crash and the victims' vulnerability.
She was released from the hospital and booked into the Napa County Jail on March 23, with bail set at $1.5 million.
Barajas' arraignment, originally scheduled for March 24, has been postponed to April 1, 2025.
The Napa community continues to mourn the loss, with fundraisers organized to support the family and counseling services offered to grieving students and families.
