NASA Launches New Satellite Constellation To Get Data On Tropical Cyclones

NASA launched a constellation of CubeSats called TROPICS to observe tropical cyclones more frequently than current weather satellites.
The TROPICS mission aims to improve scientific understanding of hurricanes and help enhance prediction and forecasting models.
The CubeSats will orbit in formation with one another, offering high resolution measurements of environmental and inner-core conditions for tropical cyclones on a nearly global scale.
Scientists hope the TROPICS mission will reveal more about the rapid changes in a storm's structure and intensity.
The data from TROPICS will be shared with partners like the National Hurricane Center to help forecast tropical cyclones.
