NASA's Newest Artemis Astronauts Graduate, Applications Open for Next Class

The latest class of astronauts is now eligible for missions to the ISS, moon, and Mars, as NASA seeks new candidates for future exploration.

NASA welcomed its newest class of Artemis astronauts, with 10 graduates now eligible for flight assignments, including missions to the International Space Station, the moon, and Mars.
The astronaut graduates were selected from over 12,000 applicants in 2021 and completed more than two years of rigorous training in spacewalking, robotics, space station systems, and more.
NASA has opened applications for the next round of astronaut candidates, seeking individuals ready to explore the cosmos and participate in future lunar and Martian missions.
Two astronauts from the United Arab Emirates also graduated alongside the NASA astronauts, highlighting the international collaboration in space exploration.
The new astronaut class, nicknamed 'The Flies,' brings a diverse set of skills and backgrounds to NASA's astronaut corps, including fighter pilots, scientists, engineers, and a doctor.
