Nathan MacKinnon Becomes 100th NHL Player to Reach 1,000 Career Points

The Colorado Avalanche star achieved the milestone with two assists in a 3-0 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Nathan MacKinnon, reigning NHL MVP, recorded his 1,000th career point during the Avalanche's sixth consecutive win at home.
MacKinnon is the 100th player in NHL history to achieve this milestone and the third in franchise history, following Joe Sakic and Peter Stastny.
The 29-year-old center reached the milestone with a third-period assist on Artturi Lehkonen's goal, followed by another assist on Martin Necas' goal minutes later.
A first-period assist initially appeared to secure the milestone but was overturned due to an offside challenge, delaying the historic moment.
MacKinnon, a 2013 first overall draft pick, is the first player from his draft class and the first former Halifax Mooseheads player to reach 1,000 points.
