Navi Mumbai Unveils ₹5,709.95-Crore Budget Focused on Livability and Development

The 2025-26 budget emphasizes infrastructure, healthcare, and tourism without raising taxes for the 25th consecutive year.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) announced a ₹5,709.95-crore budget with a projected surplus of ₹25 crore for the financial year 2025-26.
Key initiatives include enhanced healthcare services such as MRI facilities, chemotherapy units, dialysis centers, and a dedicated geriatric ward, alongside plans for a new nursing college.
Major infrastructure upgrades are planned, including 19 new flyovers, a Comprehensive City Mobility Plan, and 145 electric vehicle charging stations, in preparation for the Navi Mumbai International Airport's launch.
Tourism development projects feature a Marina Park, Mangrove Park, aquarium, museum, and open-air theater, aiming to boost economic growth and cultural engagement.
Environmental and sustainability measures include tree planting, waste-to-energy projects, and a 100 MW solar power project at Morbe Dam, alongside initiatives to improve water supply and solid waste management.
