NCAA to provide 2 years of post-eligibility injury coverage starting in 2024

The NCAA will offer 2 years of injury coverage to college athletes after they finish competing, starting on August 1, 2024.
The coverage will apply to athletes at all NCAA divisions and cover injuries sustained while playing college sports.
The projected annual premium is $26 million, with a $90,000 limit per injury and no deductible.
Mental health care related to documented injuries will be included in limited coverage.
This new coverage will be secondary to athletes' other insurance policies.
