NCB Dismantles Raigad Drug Lab After ₹50 Crore Mephedrone Seizure in Mumbai

Two arrests made as authorities intensify efforts under 'Drug-Free India' initiative to combat synthetic drug networks.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 46.8 kg of mephedrone worth ₹50 crore from a residence in Mumbai's Bhandup area on March 22, 2025.
Two individuals were arrested, including a supplier with two prior NDPS cases who was out on bail.
Interrogations revealed that the seized drugs were manufactured at a clandestine lab in the Mahad Industrial Area of Raigad district.
The NCB raided and sealed the Raigad lab, confiscating chemicals used for synthetic drug production.
Investigations are ongoing to dismantle the broader drug network and prevent future operations.
