Negro Leagues Baseball Museum launches $25 million campaign for new state-of-the-art facility
- The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is fundraising to build a new 30,000-square foot building adjacent to its Buck O’Neil Education and Research Center.
- The new facility will house baseball artifacts, replica jerseys, photographs, and other memorabilia from the Negro Leagues.
- The museum aims to raise awareness of the role Hispanics played in the Negro Leagues and establish the new building as a gateway to Kansas City's 18th & Vine district.
- The campaign, called "Pitch for the Future," has already received a $1 million donation from Bank of America.
- The museum celebrates the history of African American baseball and its impact on civil rights in the U.S.
