New Jersey Man Dies After Rescuing Two Boys from Dangerous River

Pablo Hernando Cruz, 49, saved the children from the Great Egg Harbor River before being pulled under and losing his life.

The incident occurred at Weymouth Furnace Park, where swimming is prohibited due to hazardous conditions.
Cruz, who did not appear to know the boys, managed to push them to safety before he went under.
First responders and bystanders found Cruz and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The rescued boys, aged 8 and 12, were treated at local hospitals and are expected to survive.
Cruz is remembered as a devoted family man who put his career on hold to care for his daughter during her illness.
