New Jersey Teacher Charged with Sexual Assault of Student in Wildlife Area

Jessica Sawicki, a high school teacher, faces multiple charges after being caught with a student in a state-owned nature preserve.

Jessica Sawicki, 37, was arrested and charged with five counts of second-degree sexual assault and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The incidents occurred on multiple occasions at the Assunpink Wildlife Management Area in New Jersey.
Sawicki and the student, aged between 16 and 18, were found in 'states of undress' by wildlife officers.
The teacher has been placed on administrative leave and is currently held at Monmouth County Correctional Institution.
The school district emphasized that the alleged incidents did not occur on school property and condemned the behavior as against professional standards.
