New York Gov. Kathy Hochul Announces Skin Cancer Diagnosis

Hochul to undergo minor surgical procedure to remove basal cell carcinoma on her nose.

Hochul revealed her diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma during a press conference on Thursday.
The cancer was discovered during a routine medical checkup a few weeks ago.
She will have the tumor removed on Friday morning under local anesthesia.
Basal cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer and is highly treatable when caught early.
Hochul urged the public to get regular medical checkups to detect such conditions early.
